Why an app for your ToolJet app?

From browser tab to home screen.

ToolJet is used by startups and IT teams who want internal dashboards, admin panels and operational apps quickly, usually on their own infrastructure. Once those apps are released at a stable URL, staff on the move want them on a phone with saved login and notifications. A native WebView wrapper around the released ToolJet app provides exactly that, with no native code to write or maintain.

Your app behaves like a full-screen browser for your ToolJet app: every change you publish on ToolJet is live in the app immediately – no app update required. Native features such as push notifications, an offline screen, native dialogs and smart link handling are added on top.

See all features

Home screen presence

A real app icon on iPhone and Android devices, installed from the App Store and Google Play.

Push notifications

Re-engage users with OneSignal push messages – or trigger local notifications from your own JavaScript.

Offline screen

Instead of browser errors, users see a branded offline screen with a "Try again" button.

Monetization

AdMob banners and interstitials, in-app purchases and native sharing dialogs are supported.

How it works for ToolJet

Three steps to your ToolJet app.

1

Publish your ToolJet app

Make sure your app is live on a public URL (ideally your own domain) and looks good on a phone screen – that URL is what we wrap.

2

Order in a few minutes

Tell us your URL, app name and icon in the order wizard, pick the native features you need and pay securely with Stripe.

3

Receive your apps within 72 hours

We configure the WebViewGold template for your project, optimize it and deliver the full Xcode & Android Studio source code plus store-ready builds.

Preparation checklist

Prepare your ToolJet app for the app stores.

A few platform-specific tips from our App Specialists for the best result:

  • Release the app and use its public or shared URL on a stable domain; the editor preview link is not suitable for an app.
  • Design mobile layouts in ToolJet’s mobile view and keep key actions visible without horizontal scrolling.
  • Confirm your sign-in method (ToolJet accounts, SSO or OIDC) completes on your domain; Google sign-in needs an in-app configuration.
  • If self-hosting, make sure the instance is reachable over HTTPS from mobile networks or through a VPN your users can use.
  • Not sure about a setting? Leave it to us – everything can be changed later in the source code, and our support is happy to advise.

Built on WebViewGold. Every ToolJet app we deliver is based on WebViewGold, the WebView app template for iOS & Android developed by our own team – battle-tested in the stores and continuously updated for the latest iOS and Android versions. FAQ

ToolJet to app: frequently asked questions

Can a public ToolJet app be wrapped without login?

Yes. If you release a ToolJet app as public, the native app opens it directly without any sign-in, which is ideal for customer-facing dashboards or status views. Password-protected or SSO-protected apps also work; the login simply happens inside the WebView.

Does the app work with a self-hosted ToolJet instance?

Yes. The native app loads any reachable HTTPS URL, including self-hosted deployments on your own servers or cloud. If the instance is only available inside a private network, users need to be on that network or VPN on their phones.

Is this suitable for the public App Store?

For internal-only tools, Apple generally prefers private distribution via Apple Business Manager or unlisted links, and Google Play offers private apps for organisations. Customer-facing tools with real functionality can be listed publicly. We advise on the right route for your case.

How much does it cost and how do I pay?

Converting one platform (iOS or Android) is a one-time fee of $698; the iOS + Android bundle costs $1,158 (you save $238). The optional App Publishing Service is $318 per platform. Payment is handled securely by Stripe (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay). Prices exclude VAT.

What exactly do I receive?

The complete Xcode project (iOS) and/or Android Studio project including signed APK/AAB files and keystore (Android), plus a step-by-step quick start guide for the App Store and Google Play submission. The apps are built on the WebViewGold template, so you keep the full, editable source code.

What if Apple or Google rejects the app?

Store approval depends on the content of your app, and most WebView apps based on a responsive, app-like website pass review. If Apple or Google rejects your app for non-content reasons, we offer a full refund of the setup fee when you claim it within 14 days after purchase – see our Terms and Conditions.
